The taste of Texas Hemp Cup: A recap

Can you believe we’re in Texas? 

It’s slowly tapering off from the regular 100+ degree heat here in Austin.

But before it does, it’s time to get all of the best hemp growers and canna-business owners to sweat a little.

Just one last time.

Wisdom like this doesn’t grow on trees!

What’s all the smoke about?

This year was my first attending the Taste of Texas Hemp Cup, a sponsored competition among some serious titans of hemp-estry (see what I did there?).

Up for winning were titles like Highest Terpenes, Best Flower, and a community favorite—the People’s Choice award.

As the Texas sun set, it was time to sit and await the announcement of who would be taking home the big wins this year, and most of all, who would be taking home the Hemp Cup.

Winner speeches were dope

After circling the grounds and picking up a few choice consumables, it was time to take a seat and take in the wisdom from those in the winner’s circle.

I loved the positive and supportive speeches made by all of the growers who won, which lets me know our show is on the right track as far as changing the vibes here in the industry.

Congrats, fam! Eric Goodman of Eerrganix Hemp Farm took home the Cup!

To one with more inclusion. To one that elevates each other, instead of tearing each other down.

Times are definitely changing here in Texas, and I’m proud to be on the forefront of it all to see it happen!

I can’t wait to have some of my new friends on our podcast to chat about the science, history and culture of this great plant.
